The Challenge:

In honour of World Mental Health Day, the client wanted to host a high-impact virtual session to support their global team’s mental well-being. 

The goal was to create a psychologically safe space to raise awareness about stress, teach coping strategies, and introduce the concept of “antifragility”—the ability to grow stronger under pressure. Given the sensitive nature of the topic and the diversity of the audience, the session had to be inclusive, educational, and empowering without being overly clinical or surface-level.

The Solutions:

PPEARL designed and facilitated a 1-hour session titled “Combat Your Stress and Build Systems of Strength.” This talk explored the biological, emotional, and behavioural responses to stress, as well as how to move from survival mode to a state of resilience and growth. 

Key components included:
Introduction to stress response systems and early warning signs
Mind-body connection through live breathing and grounding exercises
Antifragility mindset and how to create sustainable internal systems for strength
Emphasis on normalising emotional struggles and self-compassion 

The facilitator created a warm, honest atmosphere, using psychological insight and personal reflection to keep participants engaged throughout the session. 

The Impact:

Participants left the session not only better informed but also emotionally equipped to recognise and manage stress in the moment. Through experiential exercises and guided reflection, they developed a clearer understanding of their personal stress triggers and mastered practical techniques—such as diaphragmatic breathing, cognitive reframing and micro-breaks—to restore calm under pressure.

The shared experience fostered genuine connection and psychological safety, encouraging attendees to speak openly about challenges and learn from one another. As a result, individuals reported feeling more supported by their peers and more confident in their ability to sustain resilience over time. Crucially, they departed with a concise toolkit of evidence-based strategies that can be applied immediately, strengthening both their own well-being and the collaborative health of their teams.
