Frasers Property was undergoing a significant transformation—embedding sustainability not just into its operations, but into its culture. As regulations tightened, expectations grew, and climate concerns became more urgent, the organisation recognised that sustainability could no longer sit in a silo or be driven by a few specialists. It had to become a shared responsibility, something understood and acted upon by every employee, from those managing facilities on the ground to those shaping long-term strategy at the executive level.
To support this shift, the company launched an internal Learning Festival—a dedicated space for employees to explore future-focused topics in a dynamic and engaging way. One of the centrepieces of this festival was a keynote session focused on sustainability. But this wasn’t meant to be just another awareness talk or a rundown of the latest ESG terms. The team wanted something deeper: a keynote that could inspire, inform, and challenge their people to think differently about the world they’re building through the properties they manage, the systems they use, and the decisions they make each day.
The challenge was twofold. First, the content needed to be strategic enough to offer meaningful insight and to cover everything from future-ready cities and carbon impact to supply chain evolution while staying grounded in real, relatable examples. Second, the session had to land with a diverse internal audience. The company’s workforce included everyone from engineers and site managers to sustainability specialists and senior leaders. The keynote needed to speak to them all: cutting across job roles, levels of experience, and degrees of familiarity with sustainability topics.
They were looking for a speaker who could bring both credibility and clarity. Someone who could take a complex, often overwhelming subject and make it tangible. Someone who could paint a picture of what’s coming, but also explain what to do about it now. Most of all, they needed a speaker who could shift the room—from passive listening to active thinking—and help kickstart real conversations about where sustainability fits into each person’s day-to-day work.
The session was engaging and interactive. The speaker was knowledgeable and professional. This keynote helped us move closer to our goal of upskilling every employee in sustainability by the end of the year.
PPEARL recommended and delivered a high-impact keynote led by a well-known sustainability thought leader. The session, titled “The Sustainable Future: Trends, Strategies, and Forecasts”, explored the intersection of sustainability with business strategy, technology, urban development, and ESG pressures.
Key focus areas included:
• Preparing for a sustainability-driven economy
• The evolving role of climate risk and regulatory expectations
• Opportunities in clean energy, circular supply chains, and green employment
• How sustainability trends affect cities, health, innovation, and stakeholder trust
The keynote was delivered virtually but maintained a high level of engagement through storytelling, Q&A, and live polls.
The keynote gave employees a chance to see how big, sometimes abstract ideas about sustainability actually show up in their everyday work. It helped them realise that they don’t need to be experts in climate science to make a difference. It could be related to their choices, whether in how they manage a building, plan a project, or even communicate with vendors, all play a role in shaping a more sustainable future. For many, it was the first time they could draw a clear line between global trends and their own actions.
Instead of feeling overwhelmed by the scale of the issue, employees left feeling more informed, more grounded, and more hopeful. The session helped them see that sustainability isn’t a far-off goal. Whereas, it’s something they’re already part of. And by doing their part with more care and intention, they can help move the company forward in a way that’s responsible, thoughtful, and real.
